World Consumer Rights Day

2021-03-15

March 15 is World Consumer Rights Day, a way to raise awareness of the rights and needs of consumers around the world. This is a meaningful holiday for consumers around the world. Each of us is a consumer, in our consumption activities, we will encounter a variety of consumer minefields and even consumer traps. To some extent, this festival can help consumers protect their rights and interests or guide consumption. By celebrating this day, we can demand that the rights of all consumers be respected and protected, and protest against market abuses and social injustices that undermine consumer rights. World Consumer Rights Day was inspired by President John F. Kennedy's special message to the United States Congress on March 15, 1962, in which he formally addressed consumer rights. He was the first world leader to do so. The consumer movement first commemorated the day in 1983 and now uses it every year to mobilize people to take action on important issues and movements.

Each year, Consumer Rights Day has a different theme, and the theme of World Consumer Rights Day in 2021 is "Tackling Plastic Pollution". As a loyal partner of environmental protection and a senior supplier of green hotel amenities, Quadranteco actively responds to this theme and takes degradability as an important premise from research and development to production. Both the raw materials and packaging materials of the products are designed to achieve biodegradable results while ensuring their novelty and practicability. We are fully aware that only a sustainable ecological environment can create a sustainable economic environment.

The theme of this year's Consumer Rights Day is "Tackling Plastic Pollution." Well, what does plastic pollution mean? Plastic pollution refers to the accumulation of plastic products in the environment, with negative effects on wildlife and even humans. Plastic pollution comes in many different forms and affects land, water and oceans. Many regions have already embarked on plastic reduction by trying to reduce plastic consumption and promote plastic recycling. Plastic pollution, also known as white pollution, is an image of the phenomenon of environmental pollution caused by refractory plastic waste (mostly plastic bags). It refers to the phenomenon that all kinds of household plastic products made of polystyrene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride and other macromolecular compounds are discarded as solid waste after use. Due to random littering, it is difficult to degrade and treat, which damages the environment and causes serious pollution. In an effort to protect our only planet, many countries are introducing "plastic restrictions" in the hope of reducing plastic pollution. At present, in addition to the plastic pollution in traditional area, in the emerging areas such as e-commerce, express delivery and food delivery, the problem of new plastic pollution is becoming increasingly prominent. To this, the main electrical contractor, express delivery, delivery platform enterprise attaches great importance to, during the last energy saving publicity week jointly issued "to promote the green packaging plastic pollution joint initiative, in order to 2022, in the emerging sectors such as electricity, express delivery, delivery can form a batch of plastic can be copied, can promote reduction and green logistics mode.

In addition to plastic waste from emerging fields, plastic waste from the ocean is also an environmental problem to be taken seriously! According to statistics, more than 8 million tons of untreated plastic waste is dumped into the sea every year. These plastics take millions of years to break down, and they don't break down completely! Therefore, the use of biodegradable materials has become a trend. we need to encourage the production of less plastic waste and support the development and use of safer, more environmentally friendly alternatives to reduce the amount of plastic in our oceans that is difficult to degrade. For example, marine recycled plastic materials. PET bottles, PE bottles and PP caps commonly seen in our daily life can be made of renewable Marine plastic instead of ordinary plastic. Our company has been to the concept of environmental protection as the forward direction, in addition to professional skincare and cosmetics production lines, but also has been committed to the development and production of environmental materials. Recently, our company in this aspect of packaging materials and raw materials have passed the relevant authoritative testing! We are very honored and happy to contribute more to the cause of environmental protection!

The use of degradable materials is a trend. Recycling waste plastics is also an important environmental protection project. At present, China has the largest recycling and disposal capacity of waste plastics in the world. The domestic grade recycling rate of waste plastic materials exceeds 30%. In 2019, the recycling amount is 18.9 million tons, and the overall recycling rate is about 30%, which is not worse than other countries and regions. The perfect connection between recycling and garbage sorting is what ordinary citizens can contribute to the cause of environmental protection. The ideal consumption environment cannot be separated from the support of every consumer to the environmental protection cause: reduce the use of plastic products, reduce the discarded plastic waste, optimize the earth's environment, and form a good consumption environment. We build a good environment, and enjoy a good environment!
